Rainy Lake Weekly Fishing Report
Thursday, May 16, 2024
Another great opener on Rainy Lake! Guides found success in shallower waters pitching a jig into wind-blown bays and points. Three to six feet of water proved to be the best depth for walleye. Guides also had success in 35-40 feet of water in current producing areas of the lake (Brule Narrows and Kettle River).
Fish from the shallows will start to transition deeper; however, utilizing the same technique of tipping a jig with a shiner or flat-head chub will be most successful. Good luck on your fishing this week!
The first person to contact Rainy Lake Guiding after reading this report using the word "walleye" will receive a Rainy Lake Guiding coozie to keep your beverages cold while you're on the lake!
